Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is this a new kind of lawyer-referral service?
Yes and No. LawyersYouNeed.com has access to many lawyers in your area and we help you find the right lawyer you need. We do not recommend any one lawyer that we think is right for you. All we do is pass along your particular case information to lawyers who specialize in the area of law for which you need a lawyer. Lawyers will contact you by e-mail, and after you ask the questions you want answered by the lawyers, YOU choose which one is right for you.
2. Am I going to be called or e-mailed by hundreds of lawyers?
No. We are here to help you make a decision, and if we allowed hundreds of lawyers to contact you, that would not be very helpful. Lawyers will not receive your telephone information from us, unless you request that the lawyers call you instead of using e-mail. Otherwise, we do not anticipate more than five lawyers contacting you by e-mail, introducing themselves to you and summarizing their work experience. You may then choose to call the lawyers, or return the e-mail. Either way, it’s your choice.
3. Does this service cost me anything?
No. Using LawyersYouNeed.com is FREE for you. The lawyers pay a fee to join this service and continue to fund the advertising. Once you choose to hire a lawyer, you would pay for their legal services pursuant to the agreement you reach with that individual lawyer. LawyersYouNeed.com does not share in that fee, nor will you ever be billed for any services by LawyersYouNeed.com.
4. What makes using LawyersYouNeed.com better than
the phone book?
First of all, have you seen the number of lawyer ads in the phone book? To find the right lawyer for your individual legal situation, you would have to spend hours on the telephone making appointments and then days visiting numerous lawyers’ offices to find the one you need. It can be done, but wouldn’t you rather have the lawyers you need contact you? That’s what we do.
5. Do I have to reveal my identity and will my information be
kept confidential?
Yes, you do need to be detailed about your identity and contact information to LawyersYouNeed.com. However, we do not share your name, address or telephone number to the lawyers, unless you want us to do so. Your legal information is kept completely confidential. All we do is reveal the facts to the lawyers and your e-mail address, in compliance with our terms of service. After they contact you, all further disclosures are up to you.
6. Can I use LawyersYouNeed.com just to ask legal questions?
No. LawyersYouNeed.com is set up to provide people with information necessary to HIRE the right lawyer they need. We are not equipped to answer legal questions. However, if you are searching for a lawyer to handle a particular legal need, the lawyers that will respond to you will be happy to answer any question you may have so that you can make the right decision.
7. How long will it take for the lawyers to contact me?
As soon as you submit your information to LawyersYouNeed.com, we will process your facts and fit your situation with the right lawyers usually within one business day. The lawyers will be eager to help you as best that they can, so it is anticipated that within three days of submitting your information, you should be getting attention from lawyers that you need. In most instances, you should expect to receive introductions from lawyers in less than 3 business days.
8. Will you sell or distribute my personal information?
Absolutely not! We are not in the business of selling client information to any person or company outside of our lawyer members. All of your information is completely confidential at LawyersYouNeed.com, and even our lawyers will not know your identity or personal information outside of your e-mail address unless you request us to disclose it, or until you decide to reveal it to the lawyers.
9. How do I make the final decision on the right lawyer?
That is up to you. There is no right or wrong answer. All of the lawyers that receive your information from LawyersYouNeed.com are competent lawyers that can represent you in the most appropriate manner. Choose the one that makes you feel the most comfortable. Your decision may be based on the price they charge, their experience, the location of their law office, or just because you like their voice or personality. The important thing to remember is that it is your decision.
10. Is there a limit to the number of legal cases I can submit?
No. In fact, it is quite common for people to realize that they may have several legal needs when searching for a lawyer. For example, you may be buying a business, but also realize that you need a Will. There is no limit to the number of legal situations you can submit, but make sure you submit a new form for each legal issue. A Divorce lawyer may not also be able to help you with Bankruptcy.
11. Will I be contacted by Lawyers from my hometown, or from all over the country?
Good question. The lawyers that contact you will be right from your area. In most cases, their law offices will be just minutes from your home or work, and after you receive e-mails from them, you may decide that you would like to make an appointment and meet with them in person before making your decision.
12. I am using my computer at work, but I don’t want lawyers emailing me at my job, and I don’t have a computer at home. Can I still use LawyersYouNeed.com?
Yes. If you would like lawyers to call you instead of sending you e-mails, just let us know in the space on the form allowing you to tell us anything about your case that we should know. We will make sure the lawyers call you when and where you specify.
